Animal Aspirations Day 2026

Animal Aspirations Day is an annual event held by Animal Aspirations – an RVC student-led initiative that aims to encourage and inspire ethnic diversity across the animal-related professions. The event hopes to broaden students' insight and understanding of the different professions beyond regular Animal Aspirations workshops. During their day at the Camden Campus, students will get the chance to experience various animal careers by working through a real-life case, interact with different live animals and explore what RVC has to offer.

What to expect

🧪 Morning Workshop (9am–1pm)

An interactive, hands-on experience designed for school students interested in animal careers.
Participants will:

Explore different veterinary and animal-related professions
Take part in practical activities (e.g. clinical skills, case-based learning, working with live animals)
Gain insight into university pathways and how to pursue a career in the field
Meet current veterinary students and discover what studying at the Royal Veterinary College is like

The session aims to build confidence, spark interest, and show that animal careers are accessible to everyone

🤝 Afternoon Networking Event (1:30pm–5pm)

A collaborative and discussion-based session for veterinary students, staff, and professionals involved in widening participation and EDI.
Attendees will:

Learn how Animal Aspirations delivers impactful outreach workshops
Take part in group activities and case-based discussions
Share ideas on improving access and diversity in veterinary and animal-related professions
Build connections across universities, organisations, and sectors

The session is focused on collaboration, idea-sharing, and creating meaningful change within the profession.
